How to join the Wakefield Breastfeeding friendly Scheme

Thank you so much for wanting to sign up to the Breastfeeding Welcome Scheme, and to helping mothers in Wakefield.
There are a number of benefits to your company joining the scheme:
  • You will benefit from families supporting you in turn!  There are 4,500 women who give birth in this region every year and every one of them will have access to the list of involved companies!
  • Babies who are breastfed will settle quickly and are likely to be quiet, not disrupting other customers.
  • You will have fewer health and safety concerns about heating bottled milk.  Hot water on the table?  Microwave? (which is an unsuitable way to heat bottled milk)
  • Your company will be promoted on the Little Angels Website, the council’s breastfeeding friendly web page, our Facebook group and Pitter Patter Chatter.
  • As you may be aware, it is against the law to stop a woman from breastfeeding a baby, toddler or child.  When your staff are trained in the Breastfeeding Welcome scheme you protect yourself from them accidentally breaking the law.
We'd love more businesses to sign up to the breastfeeding friendly charter and sign up to our policy.  To register your business as breastfeeding friendly, please go to breastfeeding friendly Wakefield
