Stopping Smoking

Becoming pregnant is an amazing time in your life, but it can bring many challenges you have to face which can be very difficult. One of the most important challenges you will face will be to stop smoking during your pregnancy which will give your unborn child the best possible start in life. Your baby is more likely to grow and develop as he/she should.
Smoking in pregnancy can contribute to slow growth of your baby, premature birth, still birth, low birth weight and sudden infant death syndrome (cot death)

Once they are born your baby will be at less risk of illnesses like
  • Asthma
  • Chest infections
  • Coughs and colds
This will not only benefit baby's health but your's also. And do not feel worried about the thoughts of giving up it is very normal to feel scared and anxious. If you live with someone who smokes maybe talk to them about giving up also if they do not wish to you could ask them to smoke outside the home you could always ask this of friends and family too.
